A High-Definition (HD) remote video conferencing system is quickly becoming the system of choice in the hotel industry.
For a successful deployment, hotels must overcome three main challenges:
The HD video conference needs at least 4 to 8 Mbps bandwidth (egress bandwidth is not sufficient).
During network instability, sound and picture are intermittent and not synchronized.
The other side of meeting may use third-party devices that cannot be docked, meaning the video conference cannot be executed.
Solution Overview
The Huawei Telepresence Conference System can enable such functions as basic video, eye contact, centralized control, etc. Deploying the Huawei ViewPoint 9000 series HD conferencing terminals, HD video cameras, array microphones, large-screen Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) televisions, projectors, and other devices in hotel conference rooms enables video conferencing in multiple areas. Deploying the Universal Media Gateway (UGW), which supports Telepresence Interoperability Protocol (TIP), ITU-T standard H323 protocol and IETF standard Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), enables docking with third-party conference systems. The Huawei Telepresence Conference System closes the distance between venues and allows face-to-face communications.

1)Super Error Concealment (SEC) 2.0: At a 5% packet loss rate, the picture is normal; at a 10% packet loss rate, the picture is acceptable; at a 20% packet loss rate, the voice conference can continue to convene.
2)Intelligent Rate Control (IRC): Dynamically detects occupied bandwidth of the network service and intelligently selects the best image resolution for a variety of network bandwidth levels, maintaining high meeting quality.
3) Using the Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) hardware technology and dual-link network software, switch and router fault detection achieves 3.3 ms fault detection and 50 ms fast switch-over, meaning that the network can recover from faults without being noticed by the user, ensuring an undisturbed video conference.
4) Multiple encryptions and secure video conferencing: Supports H.235 signaling encryption and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) media-stream encryption technology and supports the TLS signaling encryption and SRTP media-stream encryption technology, which greatly ensure the security of the meeting, to fully protect the safety of users.
