Solución de recuperación ante desastres SRM de infraestructura VMware

Since Huawei storage arrays have been certificated by VMware vSphere SRM, they support the SRM disaster recovery function. Besides, they adopt the consistency protection technology and SmartWAN, meeting customers' disaster recovery requirements in a virtual environment. Therefore, Huawei storage devices help deliver an optimized disaster recovery solution specific to the VMware environment.

Service systems and service data are playing ever important roles in enterprises' operation. Therefore, data and application disaster recovery is necessary. With the popularization of virtual machines, more and more critical applications of enterprises are running on virtual machines. All customers are concerned about how to protect data security, recover services quickly, and implement disaster recovery easily in a virtualized environment.


VMware provides the Site Recovery Manager (SRM) function for disaster recovery in a virtualized environment, ensuring business continuity in the vSphere environment. Combined with the SRM, features of Huawei OceanStor T series storage devices (T series storage devices for short), such as HyperMirror, Consistency Group, HyperImage, and SmartWN, meet customers' disaster recovery requirements in a virtualized environment.


As shown in the preceding figure, the SRM uses the remote replication function provided by the T series storage devices to implement data disaster recovery. The SRM disaster recovery solution supports Fibre Channel and IP storage networks and supports the copy of data on virtual disks to be formatted. The SRM disaster recovery solution can be combined with the HA and DRS functions to deliver high availability. Virtual machines protected by the SRM solution can be freely migrated, added, or deleted. After virtual machines are migrated or added, you only need to implement simple configuration to enable the SRM solution to protect them.


This solution uses a full-redundancy networking mode, preventing a single point of failure. T series storage devices support incremental data replication. Huawei SmartWAN optimizes the TCP and uses data compression to improve link utilization, reduce bandwidth occupation, and reduce TCO. The unified disaster recovery management platform allows wizard-based configuration, online tests without interrupting services, and one-click service switchover and switchback. With all previously described features, this solution delivers a reliable and easy-to-use disaster recovery solution.

Easy-to-Use

The solution integrates vCenter, SRM, and SRA to hide the complicated operations of virtual machines and management of back-end storage arrays from customers, and provides a customer-friendly disaster recovery management interface. This customer-friendly interface allows one-click test and one-click switchover. This interface simplifies the management and control of the disaster recovery, facilitating maintenance and reducing costs.



Minimum RTO

One-click switchover simplifies the system switchover and shortens service interruption, minimizing the recovery time objective (RTO).



Low TCO

For remote disaster recovery, data replication is implemented over the WAN. Huawei SmartWAN optimizes the TCP and uses data compression to improve link utilization, reduce bandwidth occupation, and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). This solution fully utilizes existing architecture and devices, simplifies management, and reduces costs.


Easy Implementation and Minimum Service Impact

This solution features one-click disaster recovery. Compared with traditional disaster recovery solutions, this solution optimizes management and maintenance, disaster recovery process, network configuration, and replication links. Employing this solution, customers can easily deploy and maintain the service disaster recovery, implement application-level disaster recovery with the minimum RTO, and reduce impacts exerted by accidents and disasters on services.
