Expansion of traditional IT architectures, using dedicated resources for specific functions, is rapidly becoming unsustainable. Requirements for data sharing, pressure on expenses, short implementation cycles and ever higher requirements for reliability and security are forcing IT organizations into new architectures. Using cloud computing concepts to consolidate existing IT environments not only meets these requirements, but also provides a solid foundation for building future capabilities that expand outside a single enterprise.
Huawei offers a comprehensive cloud computing server integration and consolidation solution to meet enterprise expectations and help enterprises increase the value of their IT investment.
Huawei FusionCloud DataCenter Virtualization Solution and Its Position in the Cloud System
The Huawei FusionCloud DataCenter Virtualization Solution consists of the following core components:
Cloud software & hardware
The cloud OS, which implements server virtualization, consists of a virtual infrastructure layer and cloud service layer. The virtualization infrastructure layer is used to virtualize the physical computing, storage, and network resources. Upper-layer applications obtain these virtual resources from a shared virtual resource pool. This layer provides virtual computing, storage, and network resources, and implements virtual resource scheduling and management. The cloud service layer invokes and manages virtual resources through the interface provided by the virtualization infrastructure layer, and provides cloud services for upper-layer applications through the middleware interface. This layer is composed of multiple cloud service modules, such as the modules of elastic cloud computing, virtual private cloud, disaster recovery backup, flexible load balancing, and cloud middleware. The cloud middleware offers the parallel computing architecture, stream processing engine, and NoSQL database.
FusionManager provides cloud management functions: it monitors and manages the cloud computing software and hardware. Also it provides automatic resource provisioning and automatic infrastructure O&M; provides operation and management portals for end users and internal O&M personnel; offers a series of application programming interfaces (APIs) for upper-layer applications and third-party management software.
Self-Service and Automatic O&M Process:
- Physical cloud infrastructure equipment
Huawei provides a full range of cloud physical devices, including servers, storage devices, network devices, and security devices. Customers can select these devices based on the size of the IT infrastructure, requirements for future expansion and needs of software applications.
Optimized Cloud-Centric Hardware includes:
Huawei Tecal E6000 blade server
Characteristics:
Security: The computing, storage, and management planes are physically isolated to improve security
High reliability: Blades and switching modules are connected through the backplane to reduce wiring
Usability: The automatic loading function helps implement rapid and large-scale deployment.
Huawei S5500T/S5600T/S5800T storage
Characteristics:
Support for a large range of access protocols and speeds: 1 GB iSCSI, 10 GB iSCSI, 4 GB FC, and 8 GB FC.
High-density I/O ports: A maximum of 48 I/O ports meet the requirements of high-density VM deployment.
