Huawei eSight Server Management Plug-in for VMware vCenter Server (plug-in for short) is a management plug-in that is installed in the VMware vCenter Server. The plug-in detects servers and monitors alarms on the VMware vSphere Client in a unified manner.

IT infrastructure virtualization becomes more and more popular, and a large number of servers are centrally managed by combining the virtualization features. VMware vCenter Server provides powerful management capability for the vSphere virtualization environment. The open plug-in mechanism provides the expansion condition for Huawei server management. With the plug-in, administrators can use VMware vCenter Servers to manage Huawei servers.

Huawei eSight Server Management Plug-in (for Nagios) is a Huawei server management plug-in integrated into the Nagios software. It monitors alarms for power supply units (PSUs), fans, and redundant arrays of independent disks (RAID) controller cards of Huawei servers in real time based on the features of Huawei server interfaces and Nagios functions.

This plug-in uses the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Trap to monitor alarm reports in compliance with the Nagios extension regulations. This enables real-time monitoring, compared with other device management plug-ins dependent on Nagios polling tasks.

Huawei eSight Server Management Plug-in (for Microsoft® System Center) is a Huawei server management plug-in integrated into the Microsoft® System Center. Users can manage Huawei servers directly by using the Microsoft® System Center, which optimizes and simplifies IT management.

The plug-in has two Huawei management packs respectively for the following two scenarios:

1. Monitoring: Used together with the System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or System Center Essentials (SCE).

2. Virtual environment: Used together with the System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) and the System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
