Tecal RH2285 V2 Rack Server

Tecal RH2285 V2 rack server is a new-generation 2U(87.5mm or 3.44 in.) rack server developed by Huawei to meet server application requirements of various enterprise services. It features large storage capacity, superb computing performance, flexible scalability, and high reliability.


Superb Performance to Enrich Service Applications

  • Supports two Intel® Xeon® E5-2400 series CPUs with a maximum main frequency of 2.3 GHz and a maximum L3 cache of 20 MB. To optimize the flexibility of computing resources, quad-core, six-core, and eight-core CPUs can be configured based on service requirements.
  • Supports 12 DDR3 RDIMMs or LRDIMMs with a maximum memory capacity of 384 GB, which provides expanded capacity for virtual applications to improve virtualization performance.



Flexible Scalability to Support Application Acceleration

  • Provides 6 PCIe slots for high-availability I/O expansion.
  • Supports Huawei's high-performance ES series SSD cards and intelligent network interface cards (iNICs) to expand storage capabilities, boost network I/O performance, and accelerate applications.
  • Supports high-performance GPUs (available in December 2012) to improve the graphics processing performance and floating-point computing performance.


Large Capacity and High Reliability to Enhance Application Stability

  • Supports SAS disks, SATA disks, or SSDs: 8 or 26 * 2.5-inch disks; or 12 * 3.5-inch (SAS or SATA only) disks and 2 * 2.5-inch disks. The hard disks are hot-swappable and provide a maximum storage capacity of 38 TB to meet the high application storage requirements of servers.
  • Adopts industry-leading RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, etc. technologies and provides a 512 MB or 1 GB cache. To ensure system reliability, the RH2285 V2 also supports BBU and super capacitor protection, RAID state transition, RAID configuration memory, self-diagnosis, and remote Web setting.
  • Provides PSUs and fans in redundancy mode and enables maintenance without interrupting services.
  • Maximizes reliability with multi-level security mechanisms such as the trusted platform module (TPM) and an embedded black box.


Designed to Improve IT System Efficiency and Reduce Power Consumption

  • Supports hot-swappable PSUs and fans in redundancy mode and enables online replacements.
  • Provides two ports for an embedded USB flash drive and embedded USB flash memory card to enable quick OS startup and embedded virtualization software.
  • Provides WebUIs for managing user access and supports KVM over IP, virtual media, remote firmware upgrade, startup, shutdown, and reset.
  • Uses 80 Plus Platinum PSUs to achieve a maximum efficiency of 94% under a 50% load, reduce power loss, and raise power utilization.
  • Forms a total, green solution by implementing the following energy-saving strategies: power capping and control functions monitor and control system power consumption in real time; optimized heat dissipation and fan systems reduce the power required to dissipate heat; hard disks are not run simultaneously; lowered CPU frequency minimizes the power required for startup; and intelligent partition-based fan speed adjustment and intelligent CPU frequency adjustment continually minimize power use.
